Can you lighten your hair with lemons and a hair dryer?

Updated: May 26, 2020

I searched up and down on the internet for the answer to this question. Most articles talk about how to use lemons and the sun or even how to use Sun In to lighten your hair.

So I decided to take the lemons into my own hands! I squeezed two lemons, added the same amount of water as the lemon juice, and a little bit of olive oil, which was hoping would protect my hair from the acid in the lemons.

After mixing everything thoroughly, I put all of them into a glass spray bottle and covered myself with an old towel. I sprayed my hair until it was coated in the mixture.

Then I blow dried my hair until it was almost crunchy. It felt really greasy, even though it was dry, because of the olive oil (not a great feeling).

I won't bother with the before photo because it did a big fat nothing. My hair is still brown.

To answer the question, no, you cannot lighten your hair with lemons and a blow dryer. If you want to use lemons to lighten your hair, you'll have to sit outside and get a suntan too.

Happy hair dying!
