I am going to start blogging about the healthy habits that I want to see in my own life. Hopefully some of these tips will help me and you!
Get a cute bottle to drink more water!
Perhaps you've heard the expression, "Dress good, feel good"? This is the embodiment of that but for water. Having something cute encourages you to use it.
The other nice thing about having a dedicated water bottle to drink from is that you know how many ounces you're drinking. If you have a 16 ounce bottle, you only have to fill it up and drink it an average of three times each day.
There is an environmental bonus too! #ReducePlastic
Start tracking your water intake on an app!
I am going to start using the Fitbit app to track my water intake. I already use it to track my workouts. There are many healthy habit apps out there that even set custom reminders.
Don't want to download a separate app for this? Set some daily alarms to drink water at different times throughout the day to encourage yourself to drink water.
Don't ignore the reminders. Drinking water takes only a couple of seconds or a minute or two if you have to go get some.
Make it a part of your workout routine!
Staying hydrated is an essential part of working out. If you already have a weekly workout routine, schedule your water drinking around it. I'll share mine below.
Sunday
Drink extra water for tomorrow's workout!
Monday
Get hydrated in the morning for my afternoon run. Bring a water bottle to drink during my workout. Drink water post-workout to cool down.
Tuesday
Running rest day. Light walking or 10 minute core workout. Drink extra water to help my body recover.
Wednesday
Same as Monday! Get hydrated in the morning for my afternoon run. Bring a water bottle to drink during my workout. Drink water post-workout to cool down.
Thursday
Same as Tuesday! Running rest day. Light walking or 10 minute core workout. Drink extra water to help my body recover.
Friday
Drink extra water to prepare for a weekend of fun! Friday nights we sometimes go dancing or out shopping.
Saturday
Bring lots of water with me as we are on the go! Running errands, visiting family, or whatever the weekend plans are, I'll focus on continuing drinking water.
Just writing this post has inspired me to get my water bottle out and sipping on some water again! If this is a helpful reminder for you, pin this post!
